Day 7 of 23

Ahhh, Christmas Pictures...I love taking other people's, but my own children.  Honestly!
Fionn still doesn't know about the lights, even at 19 months.  Even though I can take his picture any other time; when it counts, when it matters, he is a bear.
This is Mag, hamming it up after we "attempted" our family pictures last night.  More to come from this fiasco, I'm sure!

Day 6 of 23

Back to Omaha for today.  We cannot leave out Mr.A.  He is the nephew of a good friend of mine, and I was so excited to get to photograph him.  I got to see Mr.A every day I was in Omaha (I think) and he was a total ham.  On Saturday he even rocked a little Cornhusker t-shirt before the Nebraska game.

Day 5 of 23

Today the princess graces our countdown yet again.  I couldn't show you pictures from our Christmas Tree hunt without showing you Maggie.  She is now a pro at finding the perfect tree!  She knows what kind of tree we like, she knows the shape of the tree, and how full we like it.  We had a couple good debates this year over our tree.  Usually we can convince her to keep looking after a few minutes, but there were a few she was pretty insistent on.  The only reason we kept moving was because Fionn pulled rank and ran off, so we followed as good parents do.  This picture was on our ride back with our tree.  That's our tree right there in the background, all bundled up.  She was so excited that we got it and were headed back to the hot cocoa and cookies!  We hope you all had a great weekend, and that you got a little bit of snow wherever you are too.  It was the perfect compliment to our weekend.

Day 4 of 23

This weekend we did our annual trek out into the country to get our Christmas tree.  This is really Fionn's first year of "helping" pick our tree out.  He had so much fun playing in the snow that fell this weekend.  Really it made it a PERFECT day to go out and find our tree.
From our first Christmas here in Pittsburgh we've always headed out to Buchanan's Tree Farm and we've been nothing but happy with our trips out there.  They are located in Beaver County and everything about our experience there is fun.  From the hay ride out to the trees, to searching through all the choices, dragging it out, then them helping us load up our tree is memorable every year.  Not only do we get our tree there every year,  but we all pick out an ornament in their warm little shop while we sip our hot cocoa and snack on our cookies before heading home.
In case you can't tell, we love Buchanan's!  If you live here in Pittsburgh, we highly recommend them for your live Christmas Tree.

Day 3 of 23

Back to Omaha for day 3.  Miss L. is not only beautiful, but is a survivor as well.  Just looking at this adorable round face you would never know the struggle she has had so far in life.  But look at that smile.  It's contagious.  How could you be anything but happy when you're around her?

Day two of 23

So this may not be what you were expecting, but it's what you're getting!  My children keep me busy, and today is no exception.  Because I think this is hilarious, YOU get to see my daughter's face after her little brother bit her on the nose.  She was none to happy and asked me to document it for daddy to see.  She says she was only trying to hug him after he "bumped his head off the wall by himself" but I'm not so sure!
Happy 3rd of December everyone!

23 Portraits in 23 Days.

We have been truly blessed this fall with many chances to travel and to meet new families while we travel.  Last month, while in Omaha, Nebraska I met with some fantastic families to capture the love that they share.

This is probably one of my favorites from this family's session.  Grandma brought this apple as a treat after we finished the session.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for kids with candy.
This season is moving along quickly, and in honor of Christmas, I plan to do a blog-post a day for the next 23 days.
Our sessions are now done for those of you that needed Christmas Card designs, but we are still taking regular family portraits through the 13th.
